Melanie Stern is the Director of Consumer Lending and CRA Officer at Spring Bank, a CDFI bank based in Bronx NY, with branches in the Bronx and West Harlem. Ms. Stern is responsible for the development and marketing of affordable consumer loan products that support the asset building mission of the bank and Community Development activities of the bank including overseeing non-profit partnerships.
Prior to joining Spring Bank, Ms. Stern was the Senior Program Officer at the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions where she spearheaded responsible lending initiatives at credit unions, developing consumer and small business loan products and building financial inclusion programs for targeted demographic groups, including seniors. She was also the Director of the New York State CDFI Coalition. Ms. Stern served as the Director of Small Business Lending at Community Capital New York, a CDFI serving seven New York State counties. Ms. Stern has an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a Masters from Columba’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Spring Bank's e-bike loans for urban convenience delivery. With the help of a “financial inclusion grant” from New York State, the bank has expanded their successful, award-winning Employee Opportunity Loan Program, adding access to affordable capital for micromobility loans for electric bikes and scooters for workers.
