At Jones Walker LLP, we are proud to sponsor the Community Development Bankers Association (CDBA) and its mission to support Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) that serve underserved populations. Our deep regulatory experience, strong relationships with key federal and state banking agencies, and commitment to the success of community banks enable us to assist CDBA members in navigating the complex challenges they face.
Our Banking & Financial Services team provides valuable legal counsel to a wide range of financial institutions, from community banks to publicly traded bank holding companies. We work closely with these clients on issues ranging from mergers and acquisitions to regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Our longstanding relationships with regulators allow us to effectively advise clients on compliance with banking laws such as TILA, RESPA, and BSA, negotiate enforcement actions, prepare for regulatory examinations, and address emerging concerns like cybersecurity and customer privacy.
In addition to supporting regulatory compliance, we assist banks in expanding their ability to serve underserved communities. We offer comprehensive services that span corporate governance, securities, tax, employment, and litigation matters, all tailored to meet the specific needs of community and mid-size banks.
Through our sponsorship of the CDBA, we demonstrate our commitment to supporting the institutions that drive economic development in low-income and underserved areas. By focusing on the unique needs of community banks and CDFIs, we empower these organizations to overcome regulatory hurdles and achieve their goals, ultimately strengthening the communities they serve.
